Description of Activity
Innovation has become an overarching phenomenon where technology-driven solutions connect many dots in one go. India today boasts of World’s youngest population with Median Age of 25 Yrs with over 550 million people below the age of 25 years and Over 300 million youths of India aged between 18-36 Yrs as per McKinsey Study. Statistics favorable to the growth of an economy can well become a burden if not channelized in an appropriate direction. The need of the hour is to convert this population into a meaningful talent pool. The way forward as proposed by experts is skilling. Focusing on skilling our people will create several industries and professions where India will become the global talent pool. In India only 2.5% of the workforce (18-59 yrs) has had any professional training. In contrast, globally on average, 60 per cent to 80 per cent of a country’s workforce is skilled. We want to lead the country through its human resource that has a mindset of acquiring education through a stereotype thinking of degree acquisition. The time is ripe for us to sit back and think about best ways to build capacity through appropriately innovating education. Nations are built on intellectual capital and talent economics has been significantly impacting them. This global platform is an attempt to bring all stakeholders to create a blueprint on capacity building through thoughtfully, creatively innovating education and practices.Period | 14 Mar 2014 → 17 Mar 2014 |
