Closing Address: Fulfilling the promise of culture and development

Description of Activity

I was invited to deliver the closing address at a 1 day symposium hosted by the Dept.of Creative and Festival Arts at the University of the West Indies, St.Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. The overarching theme of the event was cultural policy for development in the Caribbean, and a range of speakers, from academia, government/policy, culture and the arts were present. The symposium aimed to provide a platform for: 1) Advancing a dialogue on a national cultural policy for Trinidad and Tobago, and 2) Driving the national policy decision-making process.
