Description of Activity

Within the framework of online trainings, investigators and relevant employees of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance improved their practical skills in the following areas: tackling global fraud and corruption, frozen assets management, money laundering and key issues in intellectual property crime.

43 employees of Investigation Service participated in the abovementioned trainings. The following representatives of the University of Portsmouth led the teaching process: associate professor in Economic Crime & Compliance of the CCEC – Dr. Branislav Hock, senior lecturer at the CCEC - Dr. David Shepherd, and honorary lecturer of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice, University of Portsmouth - Dr. Igoris Krzecskovskis.

In order to further deepen cooperation between the parties and implement specialized projects, specific joint activities in the relevant fields will continue in the near future. The employees of Investigation Service participating in the training positively evaluated the topics discussed and the compliance of the training with their professional requirements. Willingness was expressed, that staff of the Service having relevant competences, will again be involved in similar training activities planned in cooperation with the University of Portsmouth.
