Hybrid: BCS Faculty of Health & Care - Annual Scientific Conference 2025

Description of Activity

For the 2025 BCS Faculty of Health & Care Annual Scientific Conference, I serve as one of the conference chairs with specific responsibility for the academic programme. Working in close collaboration with the wider Scientific Programme Committee, I take part in bi-weekly planning meetings to design a focused and high-quality agenda for a community of around 120 health informatics professionals.

I liaise directly with BMJ Health & Care Informatics to facilitate publication of the accepted abstracts, aligning the journal’s editorial requirements with our submission and review processes. I also organise the peer review workflow: recruiting reviewers, allocating submissions, and following up to ensure timely, constructive evaluations.

I support the development of the conference programme itself, working with colleagues to structure thematic sessions, select oral and poster presentations, and appoint session chairs. I also act as a point of contact for authors to guide them through the final submission and presentation stages.
