Description of Activity

Along with fellow UK delegates I have represented the UK at the Retreat for Women in Applied Mathematics – South East Asia 2025 (RWAM-SE 2025), held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

As part of the programme, I have delivered an invited talk and chaired a session, actively contributing to discussions on advancing applied mathematics in the region. During the visit, I was also invited to a reception hosted by the British Ambassador to Hanoi.

The event, inspired by the UK-based RWAM initiative, will be the first of its kind in Southeast Asia, serving as an international forum for female applied mathematicians. Aligned with the ICMS Mathematics for Humanity Worldwide initiative, it promotes gender equality, showcasing diverse applied mathematics disciplines, and fostering bilateral collaboration between UK and South East Asia. Activities will include keynote lectures, contributed talks, a poster session, and a roundtable on academic and career development. It aims to integrate participants across disciplines such as climate change, optimization, machine learning, and mathematical biology, ensuring a diverse and interdisciplinary audience.
