Description of Activity
Invited talk at EPSRC Workshop on "Transfer operator methods for modelling high-frequency wave fields" organised jointly by Queen Mary University of London, University of Warwick, Nottingham Trent University, and University of Nottingham. Presented work on computer-assisted proofs in Banach spaces, specifically we prove the existence of fixed points to renormalisation operators for period doubling in systems of pairs of maps with a particular unidirectional coupling in which the first map lies in the usual Feigenbaum universality class and the second accumulates an integral characteristic of the dynamics of the first. The workshop seeks to combine experts from the field of mathematics (dynamical systems, transfer operator methods, wave equations) and engineering (vibrational acoustics, structural dynamics) to bridge the gap between recent progress in theoretical works and state of the art practical applications.Period | 28 Oct 2021 → 29 Oct 2021 |
