Description of Activity
MIE 2026 SPC memberAs Scientific Program Committee member for MIE 2026, the Medical Informatics Europe conference and EFMI publications officer, I was responsible for overseeing the scientific programme for a community of more than 900 delegates in the field of health informatics. From the earliest stages of the conference planning, I worked closely with the conference chair and other SPC members to realise the reviewer stages, final decisions, editorial stages and finally ensured that all accepted papers met academic standards for inclusion in the Studies in Health Technology and Informatics series.
I personally reviewed more than 140 submissions – assessing scientific quality, methodological rigour and relevance. I allocated manuscripts to reviewers based on subject matter expertise and oversaw the full peer review lifecycle, from initial assignment through to final decision.
I instructed and trained the conference Chairs and SPC members on the EFMI conference standards, publication guidelines and expectations.
The outcome was a well-structured, engaging programme reflecting the latest research and innovation in health informatics.
