Description of Activity
A public lecture delivered as a part of Dr Tremlett's writing fellowship at the Madrid Institute for Advanced Studies. In this talk Dr Tremlett gives an overview of her longitudinal ethnographic research on the childhood and lifecourse of Roma people in Hungary. The talk then focuses on her latest project, which is to test audience responses to alternative (‘non-stereotypical’) images of Roma, Gypsies and Travellers. The data include collages, audience response forms and recorded interviews. The findings serve as a resource for researchers of minority groups and a range of publics including journalists, policy-makers and charities.
