Invitation only event to participate in upcoming roundtable discussion on the Defence Nuclear Enterprise Command Paper, to be held at RUSI in London on Wednesday 12 June, 14:30-16:00. The roundtable is organised with the support of the Defence Nuclear Organisation at the Ministry of Defence. The Command Paper, launched in March 2024 and titled ‘Delivering the UK’s Nuclear Deterrent as a National Endeavour’, unveils the government’s approach to supporting and maintaining the UK’s nuclear deterrent. It sets out several commitments meant to ‘sustain the deterrent for as long as it is needed’, including investment in the new Dreadnought Class SSBNs, developing a replacement sovereign warhead, reinforcing partnership with industry, and nuclear up-skilling. The Paper promises ‘a new era for the nuclear sector in the UK’ - in conjunction with the government’s increased emphasis on civil nuclear.
