Description of Activity
We organised this workshop as part of the "Rural Heritage for Civic Engagement and Education" project. A Cross-disciplinary research team from University of Portsmouth and 4 Rural Heritage Museums (Weald and Downland Living Museum, Fishbourne Roman Palace Museum, Cumberland House Natural History Museum and Dinosaur Isle Museum) came together at the University of Portsmouth to celebrate local rural heritage and explore its role in local community engagement.The workshop aimed to showcase the role of rural heritage in engaging local communities and informing formal and informal education. The day shared the local heritage organisations/museums point of views but also showcased the team UoP cross-disciplinary work on using advanced tools and digital methods to maximise the impact of rural heritage in both community engagement and education.
