Description of Activity
Reviewed a manuscript entitled "Phosphate-treated siwak as a calcium phosphate–bearing bioactive material for fluoride-free oral care: physicochemical characterization and in vitro enamel microhardness recovery."
Provided a detailed scientific review covering study design, sample size justification, microhardness methodology, enamel remineralization assessment, statistical analysis, materials characterization (XRF, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XRD), figure presentation, interpretation of results, and clinical relevance. Particular emphasis was placed on the limitations of surface microhardness as a sole remineralization endpoint, the absence of lesion-depth measurements, the lack of pH-cycling and saliva/pellicle models, and the need for stronger literature support and methodological transparency.
