Description of Activity

About this event:

The Creative Students Creating Business Project is investigating what makes effective Student Engagement in Knowledge Exchange.

We invited local businesses who’ve already worked with our students (or would like to do so in the future!) to join us for breakfast and enjoy some informal networking to find out more about Student Engagement in Knowledge Exchange and how it can make a positive impact in a business.

Creative Students Creating Business (CSCB)
The CSCB Project is a collaboration between the Faculty of Business and Law and the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries at the University of Portsmouth.

Funded by the Office for Students and UK Research and Innovation, we’re researching what makes effective SEKE activity, and launching a brand new interactive toolkit for the Higher Education sector to improve support for SEKE actors, be they academics, students or external organisations.

What is Student Engagement in Knowledge Exchange?
Student Engagement in Knowledge Exchange (SEKE) brings together external businesses and organisations with universities and their students to work on collaborative projects that lead to an exchange of knowledge, skills, and ideas.

Businesses get new insight into issues they face, support with special projects, and access to the latest academic thinking in their area. Students get to apply their learning to real-world situations, giving them invaluable experience that boosts their CV, better preparing them for the world of work after graduation.
