Speaker on 'Escaping Authorship.'
Film directors hold immense prestige and undertake a formidable task to execute productions seamlessly. They can be seen as much more than creative leaders; they can be hailed as shaping the entire vision, from script to screen. However, based on my own directorial experience, I seek to challenge traditional notions of authorship and demystify the filmmaking process. Through a practice-based research methodology I will talk about my experience and explore the director’s role highlighting the collaborative nature of film production, acknowledging the inherent risks and necessary compromises, and encouraging those who may not usually consider assuming such a position.
