Local authors explore the joys and pitfalls of writing about ethnicity in their own work, sharing valuable how-to tips and what to avoid.

A panel event where established writers, including lecturers Tom Sykes, Amanda Garrie, and select guest speakers, will talk about how they present ethnicity within their work and/or avoid cultural appropriation when writing about other cultures. The audience will be invited to participate in relevant, short, explorative writing tasks, and will have 'homework' to take away to help navigate writing in these often tricky areas. FREE.
