The Role of Uncertainty in Mathematical Modelling of Pandemics (Workshop, Newton Gateway to Mathematics)

Activity: Participating in or organising an event typesParticipation in workshop, seminar, course

Description of Activity

Invited participant in a series of three half-day science events planned between 8th -10th February 2022 which will highlight key aspects of the research, bringing together relevant stakeholders across academia, industry and government, delivered as part of the RAMP Continuity Network working with members of the EPSRC-funded SEAVEA project. We will study techniques to improve the reliability and reproducibility of computer-based calculations in the face of uncertainty in the input parameters and the mathematical form of models, and also stochastic effects. The techniques have broad application beyond the current interest, which is in improving models of the pandemic.
