The Phenomenology and Imagination Research Group (PIRG) is an independent group of artist-researchers that acts in gaps inside, outside and between institutions, from participating in conferences to performative walks. As part of its methodology of ‘expanded conversation’ PIRG has developed a research method entitled the Table Method (tm) that embodies material thinking within a slowed-time framework. The workshop will follow the process of introduction, slow reading of a short text, text-based conversation, transition time, drawing (in its widest sense) in response to the text, and conversation prompted by the drawings.
