Chaos has erupted at the Philippine Senate, with gunshots fired in the building where a senator wanted by the International Criminal Court is taking refuge.

Senator Ronald dela Rosa is accused of crimes against humanity for his role as chief enforcer in former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's bloody "war on drugs".

The Philippine Government denies it is trying to arrest the Senator.
