How often should you replace your bras the ultimate bra guide

Press/Media: Expert comment

‘There is no evidence-based advice for the life span of a bra,’ says Brogan Jones, a research associate in breast health at the University of Portsmouth.

‘Instead, look out for obvious signs of wear, probably to the more elastic areas like the under band and straps, as well as clasps failing.’

‘The main sign to look out for to know it’s time to change your bra is the under band becoming too loose.’

Sports bras are different again, with Mrs Jones recommending replacing the bra you wear for exercise every time you buy new trainers.
