Organisation profile
The School of Computing, Mathematics & Physics brings together expertise across computer science, artificial intelligence, cyber security, data science, mathematics and physics to tackle some of society's most complex challenges. Our disciplines share a common purpose: using knowledge, innovation and discovery to make a meaningful impact on the world.
We are home to a vibrant community of students, academics and researchers who are advancing understanding, developing new technologies and solving real-world problems. From protecting digital systems and harnessing artificial intelligence to exploring quantum technologies and applying mathematical modelling to global challenges, our work spans the boundaries between disciplines and drives progress across industry, healthcare, security, sustainability and society.
Our teaching is informed by internationally recognised research and strong partnerships with organisations in the public and private sectors. We create an environment where curiosity is encouraged, innovation is celebrated and students are empowered to develop the knowledge and skills needed for successful careers in rapidly evolving fields.
By bringing computing, mathematics and physics together within one School, we create new opportunities for collaboration, discovery and innovation. Whether developing intelligent systems, advancing quantum science, improving healthcare technologies or using data to inform decision-making, we are helping to shape the technologies and solutions that will define the future.
