Personal profile

Summary

I am an ecologist with a background in botany, who takes a long-term perspective on ecosystems and their management. My research uses data on fire and pollen from the past to help policymakers and managers make decisions on how landscapes can be managed for sustainable futures. I am also interested in calibrating fossil records using pollen-vegetation relationships, modelling and chemical techniques.

I lead the modules 'Ecology, Plants and Human Impact' (M26296) and 'Introduction to the Biological World' (M31169).
