Personal profile

Summary

I am a Senior Lecturer in Strategy for the Strategy Enterprise and Innovation (SEI) subject group in the Faculty of Business and Law. I’m also a member of the British Academy of Management and fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I have expertise in strategic thinking under uncertainty from the perspective of process and practice theory. This I have used to contribute to management development programmes and workshops for a range of external organisations in the public sector as well as the maritime and health industries.

Biography

I was appointed as a lecturer in strategy at the University of Portsmouth in 2011 before becoming a senior lecturer in 2012. Since 2017, we have seen an increase in the number of conferences being hosted by the Faculty.

  • Emergent strategy making
  • The ethics of uncertainty
  • The concept of synergy as an underpinning of corporate strategy
