Personal profile


I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation. My main research interests are in gravitational wave astronomy and high energy astrophysics, including black holes, neutron stars, and gamma-ray bursts.


I joined the University of Portsmouth in 2019, having previously worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Amsterdam, Radboud University, and Rochester Institute of Technology. I am currently a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration (since 2012).

I obtained my Ph.D in gravitational wave astronomy from Cardiff University in 2016 after completing an M.Sci degree at the University of Glasgow.

Research Interests

My main research interest is in gravitational wave astronomy, in particular the analysis and astrophysical interpretation of gravitational wave observatory data. I am particularly interested in observing and understanding gravitational wave signals produced by merging pairs of black holes and/or neutron stars. I am currently working to combine these observations with those of other astronomical events, such as gamma-ray bursts, in order to measure properties of the universe and probe the structure of the extremely dense matter inside neutron stars.

I also have an interest in investigating and applying novel data analysis methods to astrophysical questions, including deep learning.
