I am currently available for student supervision (BSc, MSc, PhD) in the field of Human-Computer Interaction, with a focus on Interaction Design, Game Interaction, User-Research and Emerging Technology.
I am a Lecturer in Creative Technologies and Human-Computer Interaction.
Previously I worked as a Research Associate at the School of Computer Science and Informatics and IROHMS at Cardiff University (United Kingdom).
I hold a PhD in Computer Science (Human-Computer Interaction) from Lancaster University, which I pursued at the Interactive Systems Group under the supervision of Prof. Hans Gellersen. My PhD research focused on the application of novel gaze-based interactions in Games, combining human-centred design concepts with new interaction mechanics and game dynamics. I combined my PhD research with my role as an Associate Lecturer in the Computer Science Undergraduate program at Lancaster University in Human-Computer Interaction and Creative Technology modules.
Before my PhD, I obtained my Master’s degree in Cognitive Science and Interactive Media at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain) in 2015, and a Master's by Research in Computer Science at Lancaster University (UK) in 2016. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain).
The diversity of my skills, interests, and experiences has led me to a passion for Human-Computer Interaction and Play. I draw on Interaction Design, Emerging Technology, Games, and creative coding to bring an exploratory and high-level approach to both my research work and my professional practice in academia and industry. My aim is to develop novel solutions through which I investigate the potential of technology in providing meaningful experiences. I have utilized metaphors; playfulness; disruptive (sometimes provocative) concepts; research-through-design, creative thinking; sensors; and interactive media to achieve this. My projects are connected by a desire to understand how to design interactions that can be both useful yet playful but also leverage human factors. My research is motivated by a holistic understanding of what we are capable to do with interactive systems, but also how technology can change us.
My current research is on Human-Computer Interaction, with a diverse focus, including Emerging Technology, Games Interaction, Gaze-based Interaction, Human-Data Interaction and InfoVis Applications.
I am currently available for student supervision (BSc, MSc, PhD).
