Personal profile
Summary
I am an experienced Offender Manager, working within both the Community and Custody (Public and Private) Working in both a Category B (Local) and Category C establishments.
I have a proven history of quality risk management and rehabilitative support working with adult males over the age of 18.
Within these roles, I have managed a case load of both remand and sentenced prisoners. Managing cases that are assessed as Very High Risk of Serious Harm to Low Risk of Serious Harm. As part of my role within Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, I case managed a number of complex cases of individuals who had diagnosed Mental Health difficulties or presented as showing symptoms of disorder. I also specialised and managed males convicted of sexual offending.
As part of this I completed the additional training to complete structured interventions such as the New Me MOT toolkit to enhance the treatment completed as part of interventions. I am also trained to complete OASys assessments, and have been signed off as being a competent assessor, along with also being trained to complete SARA assessments on individuals convicted of domestic abuse or individuals who have been victims of domestic abuse.
Within my role, I held additional duties such as being the single point of contact for the Offender Personality Disorder Pathway. This led me to further develop my theoretical knowledge and practice, to meet the needs of the prisoner, whilst also supporting and encouraging a trauma informed approach to management.
Due to the nature of these role, I have undertaken specific training during my employment. I have however, got a strong academic background. I am currently completing a Ph.D. in Criminology at the University of Portsmouth, researching 'the Normalisation of Violence amongst Prison Staff.'
I have previously completed a MSc in Criminal Psychology and Criminal Justice at the University of Portsmouth, specialising in the links between Personality Disorder and Male Violent and Sexual Offending. Prior to this I achieved a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Wolverhampton in which I specialised in the Effects of Imprisonment on Males.
