Biography

I was Chief Statistician at the Home Office and later head of the Offenders and Corrections Research Unit there. I moved to ICJS in 2003 and have been variously Senior Research Fellow, visiting professor and am now a part time Teaching fellow.

Summary

From 2003 I was also a Statistical and Criminal Justice Consultant working for the World Bank, UNESCO, EU and African Development Bank. I advised governments on how to improve their crime and judicial statistics in countries such as Albania, Bosnia, Eritrea, Kenya, Kosovo, Mauritius, Mexico, Montenegro, Namibia, Serbia, Seychelles, South Korea, South Africa, Tanzania and the UAE. In the UK I worked as a government consultant for the MOJ, CPS, police forces, prison and probation organisations as well as with offender charities.

Research Interests

Since 2015 I have been mainly teaching to and supervising posgraduate students. My current Research interets are:

Comparatobve criminology and justice systems

Cybercime

Fraud
