Personal profile

Biography

I myself am a graduate of the University of Portsmouth qualifying in 2005 as a diagnostic radiographer. Prior to my current teaching role I worked at the Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, primarily in interventional radiology. Since joining the SHCP I have gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education and completed a MA in Health and Social Care Management at the Henley School of Business.

In my current role I am responsible for operational oversight and strategic expertise within the pre-registration, Allied Health programme area of the school, which includes:  BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography and Medical Imaging, BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science and BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice.  I work closely with the othe SHCP Associate Head's to ensure that programme delivery is concordant with university regulations and policy and meets Faculty and School performance indicators and other internal, operational targets.  The role also takes responsibility for implementing programme action plans, relevant to ASQER, NSS, EVASYS and NHSE.  The role is also responsible for ensuring that regulatory body annual review reports and notifications, for the courses the HCPC oversee, are completed and recorded.

I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and continue to be registered as a diagnostic radiographer with the Health and Care Professions Council.
