Personal profile

Summary

I am a lecturer in Politics and International Relations. My research focuses on the internationalization of public policy as well as the application of realistic evaluation methodologies in the assessment of public policy impacts. I currently lecture on modules relating to Politics and International Relations and Research Methods. I also work as a Public Policy Analyst at ICF (Inner City Fund) where I produce various deliverables for policies, actions, and projects of the European Commission and the United Kingdom.

Biography

I hold a BA in Sociology & Study of Religion from the University of Ghana (Legon), a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Portsmouth (UK), and an innovative mixed-methods Ph.D. in Public Policy from the University of Brighton (UK). I recently completed an ESRC-funded post-doctorate fellowship at the University of Portsmouth which extended the methodological approach (‘heterodox’ realistic evaluation methods) applied in my Ph.D. thesis.

Teaching Responsibilities

I currently coordinate and lecture on the Key Themes in International Relations (undergraduate) as well as Researching International Relations (postgraduate) modules. Across the broader department (SASHPL), I have also featured on other modules including Research Techniques and Data Sources – Area Studies (postgraduate) and Global Development (undergraduate).

Research Interests

My research interest revolves around scholarly discussions in broader areas of Politics, Political Economy, and International Relations, and an emerging novel methodological perspective in social science research (complexity thinking).
