Personal profile

Biography

I am an academic practitioner - I teach marketing, research in marketing and also practice marketing. As the Head of Marketing for the Faculty of Business and Law, it is my role to provide leadership and strategic direction for marketing of our course portfolio and student recruitment activities. My research publications relate to the marketing of higher education and the provision of higher education as a service.

I have extensive experience of teaching marketing to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, having initially joined the Faculty of Business and Law as an hourly paid lecturer in February 2001. This followed several years' experience working in operations and marketing in the financial services industry.

I have a particular interest and expertise in supporting students in their transition to university and ongoing induction and as such, support and enthuse staff to ensure we are providing all of our students with a positive learning experience even before they join us.

I am an advocate of ongoing curriculum development and have implemented and championed a number of strategic initiatives to deliver practical, workable improvements to the student learning experience. I work together with colleagues across the university to develop various initiatives related to curriculum design and delivery. This means I can look to ensure we are consistently providing all of our Business and Law students with a vibrant and engaging student experience, as well as supporting colleagues to enhance their own pedagogic practice. Through various external roles, I have been able to share my expertise to have a wider impact across the sector.
