Personal profile
Biography
I have taught in Higher Education since 2002, previously as a lecturer in tourism and marketing at the University of Winchester. I also had a number of non- teaching roles at Winchester including being the specialist personal tutor for exchange students and students with disabilities as well as undertaking Programme Leadership for the Foundation Degree in Management. I was also able to develop my interest in sustainability as a member of the Sustainability Working Group which aimed to develop a sustainable development strategy for the university. After a career break I became a PTHP lecturer in marketing and tourism at the Royal Agricultural College Cirencester, University of Westminster and Southampton Solent University. Throughout my academic career I have maintained a research interest in managing tourism destinations sustainably and the branding of tourist destinations. I have delivered presentations at a number of high profile conferences including the Royal Geographical Society Annual Conference and the Higher Education Academy Annual Conference as well as delivering lectures, in the marketing of tourist destinations, at two European universities.
