I am happy to respond to informal inquires on possible PhD projects (subject to my capacity) which draw upon Critical Discourse Analysis/Cognitive Linguistics/Stylistics approaches to investigate issues around style, audience, authenticity, self-promotion, product promotion (i.e. advertising or sponsorship), and community in online discourse (e.g. blogs, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram). I am especially interested in research related to gender and body image in the media.
