Biography

Jane Steventon has a prolific producing career in television, with credits in children’s and adult drama series.  Her work comprised stints on Tracy Beaker, Hollyoaks Later and she won a BAFTA for her work on the Christmas Casualty specials in 2006.  She recently produced a short film – FIRST – which screened at the British Horror Film Festival in November 2018.  She continues to work in industry for Awesome Media & Entertainment, developing scripted content for the screen, alongside her work on the BA (Hons) Film Production course.

Research Interests

Jane’s background of script editing and producing brings an astute editorial focus to her teaching. For her research, she is currently interested in exploring the female authorial gaze and is conducting interviews with various filmmakers on representation of gender as well as creativity in COVID times.
