Biography

Janet is a Principal Lecturer who has coordinated and taught many modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level during her time at the University in the areas of French politics, French history, French foreign and defence policy, international relations, European studies, political science and academic skills. Currently she teaches Key Themes in International Relations; France in the World: Global Actor or Global Maverick?; and Professional Practice: Skills for Academic and Professional Success. Janet has had many administrative functions over the years, including Admission Tutor roles, Year Tutor roles, Course Leader roles, and responsibility for curriculum development and quality assurance. Currently she is Associate Head (Academic) in SASHPL and Course Leader for BA (Hons) International Relations and Languages.

Research Interests

Contemporary French defence and security policy.
