Personal profile


As a Lecturer at University of Portsmouth, I am involved with learning and teaching activities as well as with research in the area of Petroleum Engineering.

Having a BSc degree in chemical engineering from AmirKabir University, an MSc in reservoir engineering from IFP School, and a PhD in petroleum engineering from Heriot-Watt University, I have recently become a chartered engineer (CEng) registered with Engineering Council, UK. 

Prior to joining University of Portsmouth, I worked at Research Institute of Petroleum Industry (RIPI) in Tehran for 6 years where I was involved with various research projects on reservoir fluid studies, well performance analysis, artificial lifting, flow assurance (wax, asphaltene, gas hydrates) and water production management.

During my 4-year PhD research in Edinburgh, I carried out various experiments on the capability of gas hydrates in storage and separation of CO2, H2 and natural gas. I also worked on a project about scale management in petroleum wells in TOTAL as an intern trainee in 2004.

I have presented several training courses and workshops to industry professionals on different petroleum engineering subjects.

My research interests are reservoir fluid characterization, well performance and artificial lifts, gas hydrates, and flow assurance (wax, asphaltene, scale, hydrates).
