Personal profile

Summary

I am an Academic Skills Tutor within the Faculty of Business and Law (BaL) working with Undergraduate and Postgraduate students.  I support students who are on non standard programmes such as the Degree Apprentices and other students who are also working and studying part-time.

My research project for my PGCHE was about encouraging part-time working professional students to engage in a ‘Students as Partners’ programme focused on curriculum co-design of an Academic Skills Course.  My research supervisor and I published the findings -

Findon, K., & Sims, S. (2021). ‘It’s like what we have to do at work’ – The student perspective on encouraging part-time students to engage in co-designing academic skills courses. Student Engagement in Higher Education Journal, 4(1), 14–24. Retrieved from https://sehej.raise-network.com/raise/article/view/1054
