Personal profile

Biography

I am a Senior Teaching Fellow in accounting and financial management at Portsmouth Business School. I am a professionally-qualified former banker with 40 years' experience in the finance sector, the last 21 of which I have spent as an accountant in a small practice. I hold a Master's in Research Methods and I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

I draw on my experience of working in finance in my teaching, which means that I can communicate with and help our students on both a theoretical and practical level.

Teaching Responsibilities

I am a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Accounting and Financial Management team and a Level 5 (L5) Year Tutor and Deputy Course Leader for Business and Management. I am a Module Coordinator for Business Accounting (L4) and Business Analysis and Decision Making (L5).

I was appointed as a University Tutor at Portsmouth in June 2013 after teaching for two years as a part-time Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Law on L4 units including Business Accounting, Essentials of Financial Accounting and Property Economics.
