Summary

I joined Portsmouth Business School as a Senior Lecturer in Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management in November 2018, where I currently serve as the Course Leader for MSc IHRM. Prior to my appointment at Portsmouth, I was a Lecturer in Organisation and Sustainability and also the programme coordinator of the BA (Hons) Business Studies at Bournemouth University. I hold a PhD in Management Studies and MSc in Economics from the University of Essex, UK.

My multidisciplinary academic background underpins my interdisciplinary research interests, which span international business and management studies, with a particular focus on their intersections with business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and sustainability.

I have published in leading international academic journals, including Organization Studies (ABS 4) and the British Journal of Management (ABS 4). My research has been supported by funding from the Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and the Asia-Pacific Network Foundation. Notably, my paper on "China’s Passive Revolution"published in Organization Studies was selected as one of the journal’s ‘Editor’s Picks’.

I am recognised as a Fellow (D2) by the Higher Education Academy. Currently, I'm teaching the following units at the University of Portsmouth:

Research Interests

My inter-disciplinary research interests include:

International management with links to sustainability and business ethics

Organisational power and politics with links to governance, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and NGO activism

Critical theories in organisational studies such as Gramscian theory, Foucauldian theory, and structuration theory.

In all of the above areas I have been supervising undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and PhD thesis.
