I spent the earlier part of my career in banking and accounting for 12 years. I worked for Barclays in corporate and retail banking in the UK and Kenya for 10 years before pursuing my management accounting qualification.

I was admissions tutor for undergraduate accounting and finance pathways at Portsmouth from 2009 until 2013. In 2015 I joined the University’s team for our collaborative programme with the Kaplan Higher Education Institute in Singapore. I progressed from the role of Moderator on 2 modules to overall course leader in 2016. I am responsible for managing curriculum enhancements, dealing with quality and compliance matters, staff development, and chairing assessment and examiner boards plus the Board of Studies and the Staff/Student Consultative Committee. I have introduced employability modules to further strengthen the vocational nature of the programme.
