Dr
I am a Senior Lecturer and Periodontology Lead in the Dental Academy. I am also a GDC Education Associate and a CQC Specialist Advisor.
I have a wide experience of clinical practice and clinical education, and I am particularly interested in the psychological wellbeing of dental undergraduate students.
I qualified as a Dental Hygienist in the military and have worked in a variety of dental environment settings. I joined the University of Portsmouth in 2008 as a Teaching Fellow and then was appointed Senior Lecturer in 2018, after completing my PhD.
I am interested in research which can have a positive impact on the student experience. In particular, my work has examined the meaning of stress in the context of positive psychological wellbeing to improve resilience.
I teach periodontology theory and supervise clinical practical application to all levels throughout the undergraduate degree programme. I also supervise level 6 undergraduaute research projects.
