Biography

I am Associate Head (Curriculum) in the School of Computing.

Research Interests

My main research interests are the pedagogy of introductory programming at school and university, particularly through the use of block-based programming environments. If you are interested in pursuing a PhD, MRes or undergraduate project in this area, then please contact me.

Other interests lie in computational science, including modelling and efficient simulation of electrical activity and arrhythmias in heart tissue, and applying computational intelligence techniques to problems in biomedicine and systems biology.
