Personal profile

I am a Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy Practice, with a broad experience of interprofessional working and education across primary and secondary care.

My research interests are around the efficient and effective provision of healthcare, supporting people to get the most from health services.

I joined the University of Portsmouth in 2016 after completing my PhD at the University of Southampton; having previously gained  experience across primary and secondary care, including in community pharmacy, in GP practices, as a member of a multidisciplinary community care team & within the private hospital sector.

I live in Petersfield with my husband, two children and crafty Beagle!

Teaching Responsibilities

I teach across all years of the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) programme, focussing on pharmacy practice, whilst also contributing to the post-graduate prescribing programmes for pharmacists and nurses, and post-graduate research degrees.

I co-ordinate the fourth year MPharm Preparation for Clinical Practice module, and the clinical placements for our fourth year pharmacy students, aswell as co-lead our Post-Graduate Certificate in Independent Prescribing for Pharmacists course

Research Interests

My PhD looked at whether community healthcare services could be targeted in a more effective and timely manner to patients in need by using physical measures of strength and routine healthcare data. I continue to have a research interest in supporting patients to get the most from healthcare services.
