Personal profile

Summary

I am a Senior Lecturer in International Business at the University of Portsmouth. I hold a BA and LLM in International Business Law, MSc in International Business Management and PhD in Business Management.

My research asks how firms protect and share knowledge to gain advantage. I focus on trade secrets, IP strategy, and compliant cross-border collaboration. I study trade secret governance and leakage prevention in multinational supply chains. I also examine contracting for background and foreground IP. My work covers export controls for cross-border R&D and data. I look at how teams balance openness and secrecy in fast-cycle innovation. I research the governance of data, software, and AI models as protectable assets.

I teach business and law across several modules. I supervise postgraduate projects in strategy, innovation, and IP. I welcome PhD applicants in my areas of interest, including trade secrets, IP strategy in global partnerships, export control and compliance, openness versus secrecy in innovation, and governance of data and AI assets.
