Research Interests and Supervision

Coastal defence engineering and practices, environmental and structural remote sensing, the optimisation of engineering design & construction processes via evolutionary computation, BIM.

Industry Experience

After leaving the British army I started working in Africa and the Mediterranean as an oilfield technical services Field Engineer.  After this I worked as a Coastal Defence Engineer for a local borough council and in 2003 I became chartered engineer with the ICE while working for Halcrow (now CH2M) as a Bridge Engineer (analysis, design, remediation, contract supervision etc.)
