Personal profile
Biography
I am the Course Leader for BA (Hons) Post Production for Film and Television and Senior Teaching Fellow on BA (Hons) Film Production.
I specialise in Post Production, teaching and practicing skills like video editing, colour grading and visual effects, but I also teach Cinematography and Film Craft. I support and teach software including Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects and I am an certified Avid Media Composer Professional instructor. I am a fellow in the Higher Education Academy and am currently a PHD student exploring Gamification within Post Production.
Research Interests
I was recently involved in the development of a 'Train the Trainer' toolkit alongside Neil Hunt for the Lagos State Creative Education Skills Partnership. This partnership aims to support the professionalization of the Nigerian film industry through the development of a curriculum toolkit to be launched at AFRIFF 2018, and short specialised training course, to be delivered in partnership between the University of Portsmouth (UoP) and Lagos State University (LASU).
Whilst studying my PGCERT I researched and explored board game use within Post Production teaching and am now extending that research within my PHD.
Research Interests
My research interests surround Gamification and Post Production, I completed a short paper called "Play: an effective way to teach complex software skills" which was designed to enhance the curriculum and work alongside our Video Editing modules in the University. I am currently extending this research project through a PHD.
