Personal profile

Summary

I am a Professor of Innovation and Technology Management and the Associate Head of Research and Innovation at the University of Portsmouth. I have published over 30 journal articles and conference proceedings in top-ranked journals and received multiple awards for my research and teaching contributions. I have also raised over £600,000 in collaborative research projects with private and public organisations, where I applied my data science and text mining skills to provide innovation intelligence, strategy development, and product design solutions.

My research interests lie in the analysis of large-scale data such as patent documents, social media data, and academic publications for innovation management and policy making. I am one of the few experts who have unique research approaches to examine emerging technologies such as blockchain, AI, and nanotechnology, and to generate technology roadmaps, foresights, and patent analytics. I am passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of innovation and technology management, and empowering students, researchers, and practitioners with data-driven insights and tools.

My contributions have been recognized through various awards, including the Best Paper Award from the University of Portsmouth in 2018, the Brad Hosler Award for Outstanding Paper in 2015 from PICMET, and the Doctoral Researcher Award in 2014 from ABTA.
