I am the Research Degrees (PhD programme) Co-ordinator for the Marketing Subject Group in the Faculty of Business and Law (BaL) and a Senior Lecturer in Marketing.
My research and teaching are in the fields of consumer behaviour , sustainable behaviour and sustainable consumption. My industry experience is in brand management and innovation management within FMCG.
I am on the Editorial Board for the following journals: International Journal of Consumer Studies and Journal of Consumer Behaviour, and Member of the British Academy of Management (BAM) Peer Review College. I also sit on the UKRI Early Career Researcher Forum. I have published on consumer behaviour and sustainability in different journals, such as Business Ethics, the Environment & Responsibility (BEER), Business Horizons, International Journal of Consumer Studies, International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, Journal of Consumer Policy, Futures, Psychology & Marketing.
Before I worked in academia, I gained over 10 years industry experience working in both Brand Management and Innovation Management for blue-chip companies such as Nestle, United Biscuits, Birds Eye and Electrolux on a variety of brands such as McVitie's (including Jaffa Cakes and Penguin), Bird's Eye, Sugar Puffs, Buxton Mineral Water, Felix Cat Food and Zanussi.
I joined the University of Portsmouth’s Marketing Subject Group in 2012 and I obtained my PhD in Marketing from University of Lancaster (March, 2016). I am currently the Research Degrees (PhD Programme) Co-ordinator for the Marketing Subject Group, where I recruit PhD students in Marketing and monitor their progress. I also represent staff members in the faculty (Business and Law) on research, teaching and student-related items at the University-wide Academic Council.
I teach on consumer behaviour, social marketing and independent research modules at both undergradaute and postgraduate levels, I am also the module co-ordinator of the L5 consumer behaviour unit.
My research approach is interdisciplinary, drawing on marketing, management, and social sciences.
