Summary

Simisola Adebola is an education researcher whose work examines how inequality is reproduced within the language and practice of equity in education. Her research focuses on the relationship between policy, data, and institutional practice, with particular attention to how systems designed to promote fairness can unintentionally sustain disparities. She is the originator of the concept Benevolent Disadvantage, which theorises how well-intentioned practices of care and inclusion may constrain rather than liberate marginalised groups.
