Biography

My current research applies the sociology of Zygmunt Bauman to the contemporary marginalisation of the poor and immigrants. Past research has addressed Bauman's contribution to public understanding of the Holocaust, interrogating his theories relating to the social prodcution of indifference to suffering. I have also published in the area of Film and the Holocaust.

My ongoing research addresses the mediation of the Grenfell Tower Fire, the Windrush Immigrant scandal, and the Migrant Crisis. I am involved in a research project addressing the cultural and social impact of Brexit.
