Personal profile

I am a Research Fellow in the Education Research, Innovation and Consultancy (ERIC) Unit, an initiative developed by the University to help tackle the effects of long-term educational inequality.

I have a BSc in Education and Psychology and an MSc in Social Research Methods from the University of Southampton. I am also finishing an ESRC funded PhD in Education with Advanced Quantitative Methods at Southampton.

My research interests are SEND with a focus on dyslexia, writing processes, advanced quantitative methods and open science. Specifically, I have researched the effects of writing beliefs and writing processes on knowledge development in university students' essay writing. I have also been involved in projects investigating the effectiveness of speech-to-text software in aiding children's writing and looking at the prevalence of community-based participatory research designs in autism research.

Previously, I was a research assistant for ACoRNS. I also founded and co-ran the Southampton ReproducibiliTea journal club between 2019-2021.
