Personal profile

Summary

I am a qualitative regional specialist in Asia and have worked extensively in India, Nepal and Myanmar and Pakistan.

I have two broad themes within my research. One of these is gender; particularly policy and practice addressing the issue of violence against women and girls. The other theme explores religious culture and its intersection with a range of political environments. These themes have intersected in my work at times, and have remained distinct at others.

I have a methodological background in Social Anthropology but have also used a range of mixed-method research approaches in recent years, particularly in research consultancy work for DfID.
