Dr Vijay Pereira has been awarded an Indo-United Nations pin, one of just 100 awarded worldwide, in recognition of his contribution to society and the spread of Gandhian philosophy.The award was given by the vice president of the Gandhi Global Family at an international conference at the University of Jammu, at which Dr Pereira, of Faculty of Business and Law, was the keynote speaker.Dr Pereira has carried out research on, among other things, culture in Indian organisations, human capital development in the Indian IT industry and managing people in the world’s largest employer, Indian railways.He was recently elected to the board of the Indian Academy of Management.http://www.port.ac.uk/uopnews/2016/01/18/un-honour-for-academic/
